Collection of Information
It is necessary that we collect personal information about you for the purposes of providing the membership services offered on this website. You have rights in relation to this information and this document sets out these rights.
What we collect
The Public Health Association of Australia collects your name, address, contact details and various other items of information. These are necessary in the provision of the membership service that we offer.
What we use it for
Your personal information is only used for the purposes of providing the membership service offered through this website. As part of this membership service we will contact members periodically via email for the purposes of notifying members of upcoming conferences and events, jobs, and Public Health Association of Australia announcements.
PHAA is a member-oriented and member driven Association. In order to achieve its goals and effectively service its members, as well as the public health community as a whole, the PHAA must maintain an up-to-date information base of the individual talents and skills represented in its membership. Information such as your occupation, employer and major interest areas will help us to identify members with the specific skills required for nominations to committees, councils, task forces and other groups with which the Association is involved. It will also enable the PHAA to identify which members have specific expertise as policy matters are raised. This is particularly useful when we are requested to provide input to Government policies.
What we do not use it for
Neither the Public Health Association of Australia or the website provider/host, Strategic Ecommerce SA Pty Limited, will give or sell your personal information to other parties for their use in their, or others, promotional activities.
Storage of Information
Your information is kept in a secure database that is protected by a login and password. Every effort is made to secure this database to prevent your personal information being obtained by third parties.
You have a right to know what information we have
You have a right at any time to request that you be told what personal information we hold about you.
