Mission:

To improve health in the Northern Territory through public health advocacy and action.

Issues:

  • Alcohol: to reduce per capita alcohol consumption to national average.
  • Climate change: for effective actions to address factors leading to climate change and for an effective response to climate change.
  • Road safety issues: support for lowering urban speed limits uniformly across the NT.
  • Aboriginal health- priority area for improvement, with particular emphasis in supporting Aboriginal community: controlled services.
  • Disability Education services, support for more effective government support to children, parents and schools to support children with disabilities in mainstream schools.
  • The People's Health Movement (PHM), active engagement with civil society action in support of the PHM nationally and internationally.

  • People's Alcohol Action Coalition ( Alice Springs community campaign)
  • Disability Advisory Council (NT Dept Education)

Meeting Calendar:

2nd Tuesday each month 5:15 pm, (unless otherwise notified- usually no meeting in January).
